Around 2% increase in tourists during the year – and 5% in December
The number of tourists around Leifsstöð in December was about 142,500, an increase of 5% between years. The Multi-Men were Americans then the British after the Italians. In fourth place were Germans.

Number of tourists in 2024  
The total departure of foreign tourists from the country by Leifsstöðar was about 2.26 million, an increase of 47 thousand from 2023 or 2.1%. This is the biggest number since the beginning of the record except the 2018 meteorological record – just over 2.3 million. The United States was 27.4% of all departures in 2024 and the UK was 11.8%. Next came the Germans, then Poles, and then the Italians came to the Chinese.

We’ll later review these numbers and predict for 2025. Keep in mind that these numbers do not cover Nordic, cruise ships and - other airports that are disappearing.

About 8.5% increase in tourists in November and 2% during the year
The number of tourists around Leifsstöður was about 160,000. The Multi-Menastis were that the US had a 23% bed, so the British had 21% there after Italians 5%. In fourth place, Germany was 4.8%, France was 3.7% and China’s sixth place was 3.6%.

The number from the year-ends is now nearly 2.1 million, which is almost 2% increase between years. It may therefore be assumed that the total number will be similar to last year or more.   The frequency of flights to and from the respective country is the largest change in the number of tourists, which, among other things, always the US gets the most populous. Italy is jumping in third place, for example, with Wizzair from e.g. Milano and Rome popular.

281,000 departures of tourists in August
There’s a similar number as last year. The majority of the population were Americans by 30%, the Germans had 8% and the Italians 7.7%. Then in fourth place French 5.8%, so Canadians 4.6%.

Number of rivers
that’s a 1.5 million, which is a 0.8% increase between years. But accommodation nights decreased by 5.3% in July (not the numbers of August) at the same time as tourists increased by 0.5%. Overnights in the year have generally been decreasing, which means tourists are staying shorter than before. Revised predictions about the number of tourists calculate approximately 2.250 million tourists by 2024.

155,000 departures of tourists in May
The decrease between years is -2.3%. The population of the United States was 27%, so the Germans 7.6% and Poles 7.4% (lots of labor). Then in fourth place UK 6.1%, Dutch 4.8% and Italy 4.6%.  The number of New Year’s Eve is now 748 thousand, which is 3.9% increase between years. Sometimes it’s necessary to discuss that there’s a certain development in the world that people go in shorter and more frequent journeys.

156,000 departures in February 2024
Only once has the number been greater or in February 2018. Lang crowds were 30%, Americans were 16.5%, so Chinese 7.4%. Then the Dutch 5% and then the Germans 4.3%.

Most parties’ predictions are about 2.4 million or about 8% increase from last year.
